Our students learn a number of things throughout the year.
We have the usual reading, writing, mathematics, but we also have the arts (singing, dancing, drawing, painting), science (not just looking at the surface of something but digging deeper to find the how/why/when/where of the subject), Te reo Māori (learning new kupu and using it in sentences/conversations), PE (swimming, soccer, ripper rugby, triathlon, big ball skills, rugby, netball, cross-country and so much more), Kapa haka (performing at the Delamere Cup and if lucky representing the school at Nationals). On top of all that we have EOTC – camps to teach our students outside the classroom, Aims Games for our year 7/8’s, production every other year, Fiber n Fleece to show off our artist skills.
I believe our students strive to be the best that they can be, we as teachers don’t just teach them inside that square, we step outside of the square to make it more interesting for our students, so that they want to learn and be the best that they can be.
