Events
Here at Ashbrook School we like to participate in all school events held locally and throughout New Zealand.
Below are all Term Time events and dates

Health Visit- 25th May
Health professionals Whaea Alison and Matua Lane came for an awesome presentation that answered the students inquiry questions for our local curriculum topic “What makes us healthy?”
Students are working in small groups on a topic that is of interest to them, and we’re proud of the questions they have created around healthy minds, bodies and relationships. Our local curriculum focuses on local people, places and events…..and we are so proud to have these wonderful people supporting our community to be healthy!
District Schools Speeches- 10th June
Today 4 of our students (Kiwa,Kaiya,Waiaua & Kenzie) participated in the District School Speeches held at St Joseph's Catholic School. We want to congratulate you all on your amazing efforts. It takes a lot of courage to stand up in front of an audience and speak on your own. We are so proud of you all. TAU KE Tamariki Ma!!
3 Way Conferencing- 22nd June
Today we had our 3 way conference meetings with our students and parents/caregivers. This gives whanau the chance to see what their child/ren have been doing throughout the term, where the students deliver their work to them. This encourages students to showing leadership in their own work.
Once all meetings were complete all whanau were treated with a 'Reka Hangi' prepared by the Mitai Whanau, Whaea Michelle and Matua Chance.
Nga mihi nunui ki nga whanau katoa i haere mai ki tenei ra angitu!!
Matariki Ki Mauao Expo- 23rd June
What another amazing day in Tauranga today. A big thank you to Rochelle Price, Room 2 and Te Puna Rerewai o Papatewhai who attended this Matariki ki Mauao expo.
The tamariki were so awesome and participated in all the activities thanks to whaea Tui and matua Raha for coming along we had a beautiful day.
District Schools Soccer Tournament- 1st July
What a success today was!! It is so awesome to see all our students give it a go out there and show them what Papatewhai is made of. The students really enjoyed the soccer tournament today with all the other district schools.
Planting Native Trees-6th July
Today some of our students helped Matua Bryan plant 17 native trees donated by an organization called Paper 4 trees. Because we recycle all our cardboard and paper we receive native trees to enhance our school.
Thank you to our helpers - Tu, Toa, Dayton, Dante, Issac, Jayden, Otiria and Aisha.
Delamere Cup Whakangahau- 30th September
Today our kura got the chance for the first time to all stand together at the first Whakangahau Delamere Cup this year. It was so awesome and overwhelming with the whanau support to see all our students get up on the stage and give it a go. So proud of all our tamariki for their courageous and amazing mahi. They did our kura PROUD!!
 !!HALLOWEEN ON ASHBROOK STREET!!
Today in Room 6 we got to dress up as scary Halloween creatures. It was fun to see all the students wearing costumes and masks and to top it off Te Puna o Tarawa came to 'Trick or Treat' with our kura. It was a great day full of laughs and lollies.
