In 2017 a Level 1 total immersion unit was established to cater for whānau who want their tamariki to be immersed in a positive learning environment where conversing and learning upholds the values of our reo rangatira.
Te Puna Rerewai o Papatewhai derives its name from the brook that used to run from the local farms in the area through to where the school is today.  We liken it to tamariki and whānau who come from not only Kohanga Reo, but those further afield with reasonable fluency in Te Reo Māori.

E ako ana mātau i Te Marautanga o Aotearoa: (Te Reo Matatini, Pāngarau, Pūtaiao, Hauora, Ngā Toi, Tikanga ā-Iwi, Hāngarau), te Haahi Ringatu me Te Whakatōheatanga.

Our Learning
We cater for Year 1 to Year 6 tamariki in a Level 1 Total Immersion Unit where the teaching and learning is delivered at 80%-100% in Te Reo Māori.
Te Puna Rerewai o Papatewhai has an emphasis on Te Whakatōheatanga and Te Hāhi Ringatu.  All learning and teaching is underpinned by Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.
It takes a community to raise a child; this is where whānau, whānui play an important and integral part in the wellbeing and education of our tamariki.
